MasterVisions home decor manufacturer licenses two new artists

Minneapolis, MN July 29, 2003 — MasterVisions Decorative Etched Glass Mirrors has added the work of two new artists to their collection of etched glass home décor. Minnesota artist Ken Zylla has granted etching rights to reproduce his popular “Split Rock Lighthouse” painting and Minnesota native Jon Baas has produced a specially commissioned artwork titled “Afternoon Hideaway.”

The two artists come from opposite ends of the spectrum. Zylla is a long-established artist and educator with a large body of work. Baas is an emerging artist who first gained attention for his award-winning “Eagle” portrait.

MasterVisions, the largest producer of etched glass home décor and furniture in the world, adds these two works to their collection of over 70 artworks etched in solid hardwood mirrors, glass-top coffee tables and end tables, and coat racks. "I’ve always loved Ken Zylla’s ‘Split Rock Lighthouse’ and wanted to etch it for some time,” said MasterVisions president Mark Scott. “It helps expand our nautical collection with a dramatic artwork that lends itself perfectly to etching.”

Scott was similarly excited about the addition of Baas’ “Afternoon Hideaway.” “It’s a beautiful piece of art with a feel of simpler times.” The etching features a quiet country porch with wicker sofa, surrounded by flowers and birds. “It’s just the kind of place where all of us wish we could hide away on a summer afternoon.” Scott continued, “It also lends itself perfectly to us personalizing each etching for customers by adding their names to the mirror for a warm and inviting accent to their entryway or living room.”

“Afternoon Hideway” marks MasterVisions’ continued addition of personalized items to their collection. “I’ve always wanted to offer more personalization,” Scott added. “This gives us an opportunity to serve those who appreciate fine personalized products.”

Both new artworks appear in the New Décor page on the MasterVisions website, www. mastervisions.com/new_decor.htm
